Good afternoon,
My name is Alexander M. Curley, and I am a resident of Hayes Township, a permanent resident since 2015, and a seasonal resident my entire life. My family has held residency in Bay Shore for over 150 years, at one time owning the Bay Side Inn (once called the Irvington) and The Shintangle which is attached to my home on Townline Road. The future of Bayshore and Hayes Township is a matter very pertinent to me. Living in Bay Shore and working for the former Big Rock Point facility, means that my entire life is directly tied into the ongoings of Hayes Township and that is what is driving me to make a change, and run for local government. I am reaching out to you to you, my community for support in this candidacy. Let me tell you a little about myself. I have a long history of family ties to this area including Curley, Kerns, O’Brien, Raby, Ross, Phettiplace, just to name a few. My family were teachers when Hayes township had a one room schoolhouse. My Great Great Grandfather Dr. Kerns had one of Charlevoix first hospitals. Elhanan Phettiplace was the County Commissioner for Bear Creek Township. I hold a master’s degree in business and administration, spent a year serving my country before being honorably discharged after I heavily injured my knee, and have spent years being part of organizations such as 4-H, the FFA, the Jaycees, and donating time to numerous other organizations. I am 36 years old, and my Wife and I were blessed with our first child in June 2023. Making sure that our community has a bright and successful future for him and all the other families with roots here is something I do not take lightly. I am always up for questions, healthy debates and even just to listen about concerns with our community.
Thank you for your time and support
Alexander M. Curley
